14th ASEAN Para Games follow in Kuala Lumpur, 17–23 October

2026-08-12

Eighteen Para sports are on the first list, from athletics and swimming to goalball, boccia and wheelchair basketball, under the same TUAH identity.

The 14th ASEAN Para Games are scheduled for 17 to 23 October 2027 in Kuala Lumpur, after the SEA Games close on 29 September. The two events share one organising committee, one mascot family and one theme: Celebrating Unity / Raikan Perpaduan. The initial Para programme covers 18 sports: swimming, badminton, cycling, boccia, wheelchair basketball, CP football, VI football, chess, goalball, judo, wheelchair fencing, archery, shooting, athletics, table tennis, powerlifting, wheelchair tennis and bowling. TUAH exists in a distinct ASEAN Para Games version so every athlete is represented in the look of the Games. Accessibility of venues, mixed zones and spectator routes is a delivery requirement, not an add-on, for the October week. Malaysia last hosted the SEA Games in 2017. Staging the Para Games in the capital three weeks after the able-bodied programme lets overlay, workforce and broadcast compounds stay warm — provided the turnaround between 29 September and 17 October is planned sport by sport.
